DU Posts

About DU:

The Depositors Union (DU) is a non-governmental organization established in November 2019. The Union seeks to establish itself as the legal and democratic representative of the Lebanese and foreign depositors, through which they can claim their rights, and lobby against the banks locally and internationally.

The DU currently consists of 4 distinct committees. The legal committee is formed of 30 volunteer lawyers, who have filed 200 individual cases defending depositors in Lebanese courts and offer pro bono legal consultation. The DU lawyers have also filed several lawsuits in France, Switzerland, and United States of America. The legal committee provides free legal services through the DU hotline. The economic and policy committee is formed of several economic experts who have been driving the overall DU strategy. The media committee is responsible of media relations as well as communication.
